Thanks for the wonderful idea. The CAMEROON film industry is facing alot of problems but more specifically the problem of finance.

Courage to those doing something to see that this industry grows.

The film industry is still a very young one in Cameroon so, the artists in the field should know their limits and put each person in his or her place so that we do professional work.

Anyway there is some progress in the industry.

I would give my contribution directly to you. What I can give as remark is that, the problem of the film industry in Cameroon are of 2 orders, lack of synergy of the actors and lack of funds.
If these 2 probs are solved i think that it would contribute a great deal in developing this industry. I would suggest a proper study be carried out to truly diagnose the problem before putting up a road map for this sector.
Best of luck

What a great forum for us to start discussing our problems. Thank you for the wonderful idea

I think the film industry is lacking finance. The business people don't know the opportunity to invest in this new but exciting sector in Cameroon.

Some guys in Yaounde and Bamenda are already doing a great job

Bate Besong's Disgrace

By Mah Fese (Writer, poet, playwright & composer)

Bate Besong's Disgrace indeed
Alighted on stage very timely
To see intellectual personalities
Perish in an accident so ghastly

To Dr. Bate Besong, sound critic,
Your presence was felt everywhere
And the impact of your writing
Good or bad, leaves an impression

Your concern for human rights
Made you put up certain fights
On paper and vocal expression
To exhibit your patriotism and passion

You were a distinguished personality
In the rank and file of every citizen
Of those who realised your mission
And accepted it as worthy

To die with those you love
May seem to come from above
We may envisage a gloomy picture
But find you in a land fairer

Countrymen! Focus your thoughts broad based
This is beyond our comprehension
That this was their end predestined
No option but to accept it thus

You worked for your country and beyond
And stood for challenges and changes
Who can condemn you but God
With all our deeds and offences

Writers just be careful here
Or you are stripped bare
Of your inspiration and prediction
At the end of your career

In the Writers Forum we miss you
But of course see your footprints
Boldly in the sands of times
Friend! All we say is ADIEU.

BB Good Night!!!

Tribute In Verse: A Tear For Bate Besong

By Wache Henry Ndifon

All we can say is that
It's very hard to believe
But it is on that fateful day
That you met with your lot
When as some now whisper
You should have spent it to banquet
With your missus
As every macho was obliged to have done

But BB on your way out already
You were
Your co. K. Gwangwa’a and
H. Ambe were all with you at
Disgrace:
The last, the very last “outpouring of (your) spontaneous feelings recollected" in nirvana
Though not Pax 'Nuoermak' didn't provide for that

Gone you are
But such as Marvin Gay
Your elf lives on
The cruelest exit
Yours was:
Disgrace surely will
Flash the light in the very inner chambers of those whose performance is a Disgrace
The remaining dregs of
'les anglofous' you have abandoned
Behind and in the jungle
"les freres "of your own very
Beasts of No Nation sigh in pessimism
Journey on well BB
To where there are no 'ribes
Nor 'rangling
Nor 'lamour
Nor 'cquisition
Illicit or not

You looked lost
In Pax Africana, in miniature
But it is in going
That you have yourself
Found
Oh! Doula-EDEA-Ednuoay
Alley
Our uni-gurus
You persevere
To yank; intermittently
Mellow, intermittently not
From Prof.Obenson to GabrieL Nlep
Onto Bate Besong, Gwangwa’a and Ambe
Oh expiration!
Be not spirited
For we expire
Only to subsist
So 'earth be not
Chesty

By Peter Vakunta

He's not here;
yet far and away
echoes of his prolific
erudition resounds.
He's not here;
but the legacy of his
intellect lives here.
He's not here;
but rumblings of his
cantankerous castigation
of an inept system clamors.
He's is not here;
still far and wide
the melody of his vociferation
against a cancerous polity chimes.
Hail BB!
The genuine intellectual,
The man who relegated
phony intellectualism,
professorship without publication
to the trashcan of academe.
BB is dead
Long live BB!
Who is immortal?
Big or small,
Rich or poor,
Corruptible or incorruptible,
Miscreant or holier-than-thou,
All food for maggots!

Sometimes i wonder if it all goes back to the point of funds for us to build the industry There is always something to be done even with the very little budget we have while waiting for those big budgets. Its about wanting to tell a story. This can even be done using a mobile phone. As much funds are needed for quality products, first we need to enrich ourselves by doing researches in our respective fields.
